1. Smart Home Diagnostics & Commissioning
Engineering-grade fault-finding and commissioning across Control4, Lutron, networked AV, smart lighting and architectural climate control. Local response when the original integrator is in Auckland and unreachable.
- From: $245 + GST diagnostic assessment fee (100% credited toward repair)
- Hourly: $145/hr + GST specialist rate
2. EV Charger Installation
Smart-integrated EV chargers with full design, commissioning and load-balancing. Single-phase or three-phase. Schneider, Wallbox, Tesla and other approved units. Prescribed wiring is delivered by a registered electrician under our project oversight.
- Single-phase residential standard install: $1,800–$3,200 + GST quoted
- Three-phase or non-standard: quoted per design
- Switchboard upgrade or feed upgrade: identified at site assessment, separately quoted
3. Alpine Solar Service & Repair
Authorised service partner for Fronius, Schneider, Selectronic and Enphase. Bench-level diagnostics on inverters, battery management systems and the supporting electronics.
- From: $195 + GST inverter / industrial controller diagnostic (100% credited toward repair)
- Hourly: $145/hr + GST specialist rate
- Solar system health check (full audit): from $495 + GST
4. Underfloor Heating & Climate Diagnostics
Specialist fault-finding and recalibration for electrical underfloor heating, heat-pump integration, and tariff-aware thermal management.
- From: $245 + GST smart-home audit fee (covers controller and integration diagnostic)
- Hourly: $125–$145/hr + GST
5. Premium Appliance & TV Repair
Engineering-grade repair on premium whiteware, kitchen equipment, OLED/LED/LCD televisions and high-end home theatre. Component-level repair where most contractors recommend replacement.
- From: $95 + GST consumer diagnostic fee (100% credited toward repair)
- Hourly: $125/hr + GST
6. Professional Power-Tool Servicing
Authorised servicing for Bosch, Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee and HiKOKI power tools. Walk-in or onsite collection on planned routes.
- From: $95 + GST consumer diagnostic fee
- Typical repair total: $120–$280 + GST including parts and labour
7. Commercial Maintenance
Engineering-grade preventative maintenance and fault-recovery for hotels, lodges, restaurants, retail and industrial sites. AV, EFTPOS, CCTV, kitchen electronics, refrigeration controls, smart-lighting, access control.
- Test & tag: from $5/item + $250 minimum visit (volume tiers below)
- Maintenance contracts: tiered SLA — see Section 5 below
- After-hours fault response: $275 + GST minimum (1 hour included)
8. Specialist Diagnostics — “Second Opinion”
Has another contractor told you it’s unfixable? Get a technical second opinion before you replace high-value equipment.
- Consumer electronics & power tools: $95 + GST
- Solar inverters & industrial controllers: $195 + GST
- Architectural / smart-home system audit: $245 + GST
- 100% of any assessment fee is credited toward the final repair if you proceed
9. Solar Design & Installation (Suntricity)
Through our sister business Suntricity Solar — residential and commercial solar PV, off-grid systems, hybrid systems with battery backup.
- Residential 5kW grid-tied: from $13,000 + GST installed
- Hybrid 8kW + battery (Tesla, BYD): from $25,000 + GST installed
- Off-grid alpine system: quoted per design (typical $35,000–$80,000+ installed)
- Free onsite energy audit and design consultation
10. Energy Audits & Retrofits (Suntricity)
Solar performance audits, battery storage retrofit, EV-ready upgrades, energy management consulting.
- Solar health check: from $495 + GST (linear output testing, BMS check, firmware update)
- Battery storage retrofit: quoted per design
- Onsite energy audit (residential): from $295 + GST, credited toward design fee on installation

Designed for property managers and holiday-home owners with one or more properties in the Wakatipu basin.

Terms of trade
Quotes
- Preliminary estimates are provided based on your description and photos — these are indicative only
- Fixed-price quotes are issued only after our diagnostic assessment is complete
- Fixed-price quotes are valid for 30 days from issue
- Once approved, the quoted price is the price you pay for the scope of work described
Payment
- Residential and one-off repair work: payment on completion via Eftpos, Visa, Mastercard or bank transfer
- Commercial accounts: Net 7 days from invoice
- Established commercial accounts may be granted Net 14 or Net 30 terms after 3 months of clean trading
- Maintenance contracts: monthly direct debit, billed in advance
Deposits
- 50% deposit required on quoted work over $500 before materials are ordered or work scheduled
- Deposit secures parts and your scheduled service slot
- Deposit is non-refundable once parts have been ordered, except where we are unable to perform the work
Warranty
- 90-day warranty on labour and parts replaced during the repair
- Warranty does not cover new and unrelated faults, or damage caused by external factors (power surges, liquid ingress, physical impact, lightning, manufacturer firmware updates)
- Where applicable, manufacturer warranties on parts apply in addition to our 90-day cover
- Master Electricians workmanship guarantee applies to all prescribed electrical work delivered through our registered electrician
Cancellation
- Cancellations more than 24 hours before scheduled time: no charge
- Cancellations within 24 hours: $95 administration fee
- No-show or refusal of access on the day: minimum onsite call-out fee plus zone travel
Diagnostic fee credit
- 100% of the diagnostic assessment fee is credited toward your repair if you proceed within 30 days
- Diagnostic fee remains payable if you choose not to proceed
- Diagnostic fee remains payable if the equipment is found Beyond Economical Repair after a good-faith assessment
Uncollected items
- Items left for repair must be collected within 90 days of the “Ready for Collection” notification
- Items not collected within 90 days will be considered abandoned and may be recycled, sold or disposed of to recover storage and assessment costs
Limitation of liability
- HighTech’s liability in connection with any service is limited to the amount paid to HighTech for that service
- Indirect or consequential losses (lost rental income, lost productivity) are excluded to the extent permitted by law
- Customers are advised to back up critical data on smart-home controllers, computers or any electronic device prior to repair
